The University of Maryland BioPark and Wexford are vested in the growth and success of the surrounding community. Proud partners for progress, the BioPark – Wexford team is committed to expanding retail, improving housing, and creating public space for the betterment of the neighborhood adjacent to the BioPark.

The BioPark is also dedicated to supporting community development initiatives. A special fund supported by a small portion of tenant rent payments has provided grants for community projects including a variety of technology initiatives in the local schools.

The Southwest Partnership is a coalition of neighborhood groups working with the University, City and community stakeholders, including the University of Maryland BioPark and Wexford Science + Technology, to develop a strategic plan for community improvements that will position their neighborhoods as a vibrant part of Baltimore's future.
